I recently got back into gaming and every game runs fine but battlefield 3, first my display driver would crash and going to older drivers fixed that but now after 5 - 20mins playing i get a black screen then shows my desktop with the battlefield 3 mouse still showing so I have to alt tab to get to normal mouse to click around.. Task manager says its responding still but it fails to open?

Things I have tried.. over-volt graphics card, under-clock graphics card, disabled HD audio, deleted settings folder, disabled on-board graphics, reinstalled direct X, reinstalled windows 7, punkbuster update, Ran this in CMD "bcdedit /set increaseUserVa 3072" and reinstalled a few times, tried to install it on C,D and E drive..

PC SPEC
i7 2600k, 16GB DDR3 Memory, EVGA 560ti 1GB, 1x120gb SSD, 1x3TB Drive, 1x1TB Drive, Corsair AX850w and every driver is up to date.

Yes, I went back to the 285.62 Drivers... I just cant figure this out and I'm pulling my hair out! I'm 24 and I need it! lol

I would add a little more to the volts in AfterBurner. The factory OC cards tended to have the volts set too low for the GPU clock and as BF3 is very exhaustive on the GPU, this is probably why you are seeing it in this game.

If the volts are 1.170, take them to 1.176 and this should sort the problem out. (I use those as an example)

I had a similar experience and this solved my problem.
I tried that, I also down-clocked my card by 100mhz and nothing.

BF3 has been a buggy failing mess since the last two patches, i have been getting random BSOD since the last 2GB patch and then worse a couple of weeks ago with the 30MB patch.

Downclocked my GPU by 10Mhz and put the CPU and memory back to stock trying to fault find, will OC the CPU / memory gradually every few days until it starts with the BSOD again.
Dam that sucks, wonder if origin is something to do with the issue, or just a buggy engine.. I hope bf4 isn't the same.

Running out of VRAM?
What me and EA talks person thought so I ordered a 680 that comes tomorrow as was going to upgrade anyway, just hope it fixes my issue since I have tried everything I have found online.

Thanks guys *fingers crossed* I will post back letting people know but I really hope this fixes the issue.

I got my 680 and corsair M60 mouse and all runs perfect again, I was going to get the Asus 670 but the MSI 680 was £20 more so went with the 680
