BF3 Squads

Is there anyway to invite friends into the squads in BF3?

I can get them in a party to join a game together but not in the same squad

No in-game squad management. Heavily discussed in the large BF3 thread.

Squads can only be formed pre-game through BattleLog. Anything in-game is random assignment.

In short - It's damn lame.

Nope, they can't. Battlelog parties do not have any affect on squads. There's no squad management whatsoever.

Wait, WHAT!?.

I was under the impression from dev comments that squads COULD be formulated in Battlelog?

If not then what is the point at all of even forming a party when you can just do a follow 'Join Alone'? (Voice Chat? Lols as if, Skype kthx)

I know, it's shocking. You just get thrown into random squads when in the match which makes teamplay a farce.

I think the dev comment meant they will implement it into the battlelog in the full game.

So what's the deal?

BattleLog squad management to some degree in the Live release and not in Beta (which we know does not work now)

Or nothing at all in Live release as it is in Beta now?

Hopefully the former, they are being pretty vague so no one really knows.

I really can't imagine them leaving it like it is though.

to be honest think the client side hit detection will be the biggest issue.

Oh that, happens to me all the time, you see yourself dip behind a rock, into a train, or go round a corner, yet you somehow still die when you're clearly in cover.

haha man i thought that was just me, really annoys me getting shot when im behind cover, game frustrates me on many levels :/

I cancelled my pre-order because there are too many things that bug me in the beta and no guarantee they will be fixed in the final release. Best thing is to wait for the final release and then gauge whether it's any good.

I only pre-ordered to get the old bf2 maps - will they be made available to everyone after release do you know?

The maps are not Pre-Order exclusives like the Physical Warfare pack. Dogtags etc.

The maps are a DLC Pack and can be purchased if not obtained free with pre-order.
