BF3 Upgrade... or not

I'm currently running a q9550 @ 3.6 which is the max it will go on my motherboard (fsb limit) alongside a 5850. Is there any sense in buying a second hand P5Q and aiming for 4gig alongside xfire 5850's (as they will be giving them away if overclockers deals are anything to go by

Is this a worthwhile upgrade? Or do I just have an upgrade itch?

Would also be adding a new PSU, but I'll be doing that any way as mine is old and not too sure how much longer I want it running my system (so ignore cost of PSU)

edit: monitor res is 1680*1050 though I've started using photoshop and I'm beginning to find its a bit too cluttered so may be an update for next year.

monitor res please... I think that frostbite 2 will be much more optimized and if u are happy with your bc2 perfomance then just leave as it is.

If it's for BF3, just wait for release and see what's rocking, what's not and what kind of hardware is about/what's on deals then.

I believe all the footage thus far was on a single GTX580.

How much behind is my 480 compared to a 580 ?

Im overclocked to 850mhz

cheers Shame i cant apply my overclock and see what the results are as my speeds are higher than that 580 in every way lol

Back on topic a little, I personally would put a bit of cash away each month until BF3 comes out then get yourself a i5 setup rather than another 775 setup
