BF3 wishlist

yeah they need to pull out al the stops for the pc version rather than limiting all the aspects of it just to suit console limitations.
 
  • Improved hit detection
  • Moveable ships and submarines (BF1942)
  • MUSIC IN VEHICLES (BF:V)
  • Original BF2 overpowered Blackhawk and passengers can cap flags (It was awesome tearing up a map in a full squad in the Blackhawk but equally awesome in taking down an enemy Blackhawk single handed)
  • 128 player maps (Apparently they are doing this anyway)
  • Ohh and absolutley no downsizing for console support. The game needs to be created specifically for the PC and then edited for the console version, if there is one.

That's all I can think of for now :)
 
Decent foliage so you don't stick out like a sore thumb as a sniper.

Not to mention a properly working Sniper model including Windage and environmental effects on the bullet. A Range map/spotting scope would also be nice.
Assassination missions for snipers would be cool too. More points/bonuses for tracking down and killing an individual. This would hopefully keep snipers moving around towards objectives rather than staying in the same spot. The commander could pick the target even!
 
As mentioned, to hope until the face is bluer than true blue, they release this for the pc only in late 2010.

But I think we won't see this until the next range of console are out.

Instead of just basing the game on the present day etc, I would like to see them include the present, future and world war 2 technology etc.

From there they can vary the maps etc and not just limit it to one specific style. I don't know if I have made any sense there.
 
A few ideas off the top of my head to make it more tactical...

- Infantry only servers but being able to include transport only vechicles
- Cool down on jumping (or get it rid of it totally) to stop bunny hopping
- Fixed limit of hand grenades and sniper's mines, or option to turn them off completely
- Add a deployment timer to sniper mines, it's silly that sniper can use them as offensive weapons and instantly deploy them on the move, it should take several seconds at least

I would also like to see a type of experience point system as you rank up, so that you can allot points to a range of abilities

Why only one gamemode was included in BF2 is beyond me. And they had the cheek to taunt us with an actual drop down menu for game mode aswell! :mad:

Hmm, the battlefield series isnt a mil-sim and i think this would be too big a change.

The comander selecting targets for a squads sniper would be sweet though.

yeah i thought this was so stupid, one single game mode gets boring quick. i'd like to see creative new ideas, even something so simple as defend the commander, defend the bridge, team 1 has to get to other side of map with team 2 stopping them, more then 2 teams etc etc.

i'd also like to be inside more. iirc no level in bf2 was inside a building? and the only time you were inside in bf2142 was when in a titan.

  • Realistic damage received from grenades, factoring in distance from explosion.
  • Realistic, consistent hit detection.
  • Intractable terrain - destructible buildings, effective foliage, utilising the inside of buildings (operable doors etc).
  • Asymmetrical warfare (PR had the idea, but it was executed poorly IMO, possibly limited by the game's mechanics though).
  • AAS game mode.
  • Emphasis on team-work.
And finally, the developers must take note of the significant improvements offered by PR, especially the effectiveness of team-work it gives.

Schoolyard Bulldog but in Battlefield. That would be epic!
 
Proper infantry combat, bf2's was a complete joke.

No retards bouncing around the map, prone needs to be either removed or slowed substantially to prevent the bf2 defacto infantry gimmick from coming back.

Tanks that don't take damage from going over rough terrain, last i checked theyre made for this, not going over totally smooth surfaces.

Get rid of being able to see name tags through smoke etc, what complete idiot thought that was a good idea?

Properly implemented it wouldn't need to be full on Sim. Look at Novalogic's Joint Operations for what I mean. Elevation adjustment was done with the mouse wheel on the fly. Was very nicely done actually.

Range map might be a bit out there. I learnt to judge range really accurately in BF2 using draw distance of plants and objects so its no big deal either way.

The bonus of the simpler BF2 system is speed. You can hit a target and move to the next in an instant.

I guess what would be nice is a more realistic portrayal of the Sniper rifles in terms of damage and bullet penetration, but we all know that wont happen. The .50 would be taking limbs off.

Another thing actually. An unlockable silencer for the Sniper rifle. This would mean that people do not know what direction the shot is coming from when you don't kill them first time. Ghillie suits that change to match the terrain you are in are just a necessity.

All of these are already in bf2 mods especially the mod smithy mentions. Everything from soldier carried AA to completely unarmed players as civilians and destructible buildings. Nametags dont appear for hostiles, in fact you can turn all tags off if you like afaik.

AC130 has been modelled and played in BF2, theres a video on one on oman controlled by AI

BF3 will come after Bad company 2 on the pc but it'll be the same engine I think and probably a similar game. I doubt it'll have 64 player and definitely not 128 player. It'll be more arcade then bf2 I think not milsim slanted like pr
