Hi i have a HIS ATI HD 6970 IceQ 2GB and i only have this problem with BF3, that is when the game loads up it then CTD`s and says something about driver stopped responding and has recovered.
All drivers are up to date etc .. has anybody got any ideas ?

Processor:QX9770
motherboard: Asus Striker II Extreme 790iUltra SLi
Memory:8GB Ripjaw DDR3-2000
Video Card:HIS Radeon HD 6970
ToughPower-1500W
Water Cooling Cpu/NB/SB/Mosfets+2Big Rads and fans
Operating System:Windows Vista Ultimate64

agreed either memory speed needs a slight reduction to 1325-1350,
Or the core voltage needs a tweak from 1.175 to a little higher say 1.19v

Cheers for input peeps much appreciated, the GFX card is @default so i`ll bump that up a little.. plus the 12.8 drivers out today so will try that to.
Just BF3 or other games? Does it happen when benching?

Also, 1500W for that system is crazy! :)
Ye just on BF3 the driver stopped responding issue has happened.
**LmAo i love overkill plus was running a Quad SLi set up sometime ago so splashed out a little lol.

What driver were you on when the CTD's start?

Go back to the previous working driver, then test again, if it still does it, then it shouldn't be a driver issue.

Have you oc'd the 6970 in the past?

What clocks if you did?

It could be the card that's at fault and not the driver, or something else in the system.

For instance, if your cpu's oc has become unstable due to deterioration and/or for BF3 due to a recent patch, it could be tied in with that, and so on.:)

***SOLVED***
Cheers for the input .. i tried all ..fresh install ..voltages.. etc etc .. After all that .. think its MSI Afterburner making it happen... switch it off .. BF3 works now..
