BF4 CPU Usage (3770K)

The CPU usage jumps around 70-75% usage. This seems a little on the verge of of a bottleneck, or am I mistaken?

No,only if its at 100% then you know you need to oc the CPU further

Same for gpu usage,you have plenty CPU power left

Hmm wonder if thats gonna drop after launch, seems a little high considering its an overclocked I7. (optimization is normally a late effort)

Are you playing in custom ultra?

I get 75% cpu usage with an ivy running 4.6Ghz!!! So it sounds your about right for cpu usage.

Playing max settings for me, with a 3770k @ 4.8GHz I get 100% usage?!?!

How can a single 780 max out a 3770k at 4.8Ghz that sounds very strange..

Hmmm will have to check mine out... shouldn't be an issue. I was running the BF4 beta on ultra and have seen no issues @ 2560x1440.

Ok dumb question time, what programme are you using to get/check these figures?

As above if your being maxed out buy one card you have other issues 8 pack him self sells a z87 with tri sli if im not mistaken yes the board has a plx chip for more pci bandwith but if the same cpu can run 3 cards one shouldn't be an issue

Performance is there, it gives me buttery smooth game play and high frames. Who knows, I'll worry when the performance is hindered.

Does BF4 use all 8 threads? Or should i say does it use them efficiently? I'm planning on getting a 3770K and selling my 3570K, but this is based on the assumption that new games will benefit from having more than 4 cores/threads. Also, do you think an R9 280X will be hindered at all with a 3770k running stock?

Yes it will use all the threads as its a multithreaded game,it will hinder the gpu if running stock CPU clocks,you should eek out 4.5ghz with a decent cooler,if your not wanting to oc it then is keep your current CPU and oc that

In bf3 if you had an i5 such as the 3570k, with a single card it was fine. Go xfire/sli thats where problems kick in. Ive been there, had a 4.5ghz 3570k, very high cpu use, 80% gpu use. I moved to a 3770k. Seen a drop in cpu use to 65%, gpu's maxing at 99%. But then my brain went a bit do lally and i upgraded, (use that term loosely lol) to haswell.

That's after a 15 minute TDM blast. I only really play 16-24 man and I hold 90-120 FPS ultra w/ FXAA off. Excellent game imo!
