BF4 red screen

Try loading the game in the opposite of what you are doing (single or multiplayer) then switching to the other renderer (DX or Mantle) then save and exit and try again.

Had this with one 290 that I know of - despite what a few other people said at the time (yes it usually is CPU overclock related) I'm 99% sure in the case I'm talking about it was caused by the VRAM on the GPU.

Its also possible its purely a BF4 thing - but check in GPU-z and see what type of VRAM you have on the card if its elpida it could be an issue with that possibly.
 
everything at stock cpu and gpu i appears to have got rid of the red screen however the game still freezes just doesnt give u a red screen but now i have to manually restart the pc. im beginning to wonder more and more if this is actually a problem with the game itself as a quick google search has shown thousands of people with the same problems.

@Rroff the gpus have hynix ram if that makes any dif

Are you using DX or Mantle? Whichever API you'rte using try the other one. Certainly sounding like a game issue im afraid.

A couple of things to try

1. Repair BF4 files via Origin
2. Update Punkbuster

The game fairly regularly hard locks for me on both systems I play it on and one isn't overclocked and I'm fairly sure the other is stable - usually get a BF4.exe has stopped responding after about 10 seconds but sometimes requires a hard reset.

i often get that error as well and screen goes white and after 30 seconds goes back to desktop. im just going to put it down to the game being broken
