Hi guys I fancy getting BF4 but am not sure tbh if my pc is upto spec to bother.

Could you let me know and if so what upgrades are needed.

core I7 (920)
6gb ram
radeon 4890 pro 1gb
vista 64
 
as above , if you have stock cooler get something better overclock it to 4ghz ,

and upgrade graphics card , second hand 7950 can be had for cheap

edit: and upgrade to windows 7 64 bit , or windows 8 / 8.1 with start is back mod
 
Like the post above suggests, OC your processor (I could only manage 3.8ghz stable on my old i7 920) but the stock cooler will whine like a bitch so grab a £25 CPU cooler and spend the rest on a decent GPU
 
Cheers guys. I have a titan cpu cooler cant remember the model its a big one though lol. Im not upto date on overclocking as didn't want to fry something.
 
Titan made a cooler known as the fenrir, was a very good unit and easily copes with an oc'd bloomfield cpu. 4ghz is practically a given on the DO stepping.
 
as others have already said, i would stretch that budget a bit and get a 280X and overclock that cpu and your system will be fairly capable for a few more years
