BFBC2 crossfire Flickering...

So i bought my copy of BFBC2 and nowo during certain scenes, the terrain will flicker (Texture flickering).. ontop of that the cutscenes seem abit choppy and not very fluent and just last night i had some crazy artifacting on the main menu but no crash, Saw loads of boxes and shapes flashing all over the main menu. I was still able to quit the game and all was fine after that.

If i disable crossfire then the game runs fine, runs even smoother tbh. I have swapped the cards around as someone as suggested to stabilise temps which it has done and both cards now top out at about 68/70c respectively.

I am starting to regret getting crossfire at all, since the framerates are so unpredictable and drivers don't seem to be working for me (I'm sure others won't be having this problem).

What im tempted to do right now is selling both cards for £300 and putting it towards a GTX580!

But before all of this...does anyone know of a good fix for my crossfire issue? I'm using 11.5b hot fix drivers with the latest app profiles. Disabled Bloom and HBAO using the settings file in my documents and changed tried different settings i.e. FOV for optimum view for my monitor.

Anything i'll try just about now to get this to run properly!

Sorry i cant help, I was thinking of adding another 5870 to my system, looks like im going to have to do some research now before i purchase one.

try the 10.10 drivers and don,t install profiles. But i had this problem on 2x5850's so i did what you are saying and sold them and got a msi lightning 580gtx and not had any problems :)

I'll give that a try tomorrow. I'm fetching another exact same card and selling my HIS reference card to rule out the fact that theres a sync problem between the 2 mixed cards. If it still persists then i guess i'll just mess about with drivers till i find the right set.

Sold my xfire 6950's and bought a 580, got it to 1ghz and happy days :) no flicking, artifacting... No problems at all :D

This thread makes me sad... I love ATI but their drivers suck ass!

Try using RadeonPro, select a Bioshock or Mass Effect profile and it should be ok. Do not select AFR

Good luck!

No no, its Nvidia thats has the crappy drivers....

Do not confuse multi GPU issues for crappy ATI.

Im sure SLI has issues of its own to be honest with you!

(On a crusade of spreading misinformation, in the same way that ATI's rep has been tarnished)

I'm quite sure last time I checked it was AMD/ATI drivers that get crossfire working, it cannot be anyone else to blame for shody crossfire drivers.

Update guys

Was going to try Trifire on another board but instead i switched my HIS reference card for another xfx non reference card that i bought today at ocuk. Problem has solved itself! I guess reference and non reference cards don't work very well together.

The HIS card runs perfect on its own but if i use it with a non reference card i start getting texture flickering on certain games.

The xfx cards run much much cooler aswel in crossfire! Top card touches 76c on load and bottom card at 65c. Very happy once again and running 11.5b drivers with app profiles installed.

If anyone is interested my HIS card is up for grabs in the MM section and on Fleebay.

final note.... total spent on 5870 cards = £680 :(

I have all those settings except effect are on high. Why did you tome those down? Any particular reason?

on 2 drivers sets my SLI 295's gave black flickering (whole screen) with bloom turned on, yet it didnt with much earlier drivers etc. I thinkits more a case of random system configs with the game/drivers that they dont like, as opposed to an actual problem.
Good job on fixing it :D

Well so far this configuration is much quieter and seems to run games
Much cooler. Not to mention the temps which are much much lower than the reference card I have.

Just out of interest though, how future proof are these cards? Will they last another 2 years running at 1900+ res on a single monitor?
