Ive enjoyed this game for quite a while, was working fine on the old pc and was working fine on my new pc..
Essentially i now get awful crashes whereby the monitor loses its signal and i can still hear the game in the background - then teh sound goes wild..
Have tried
1) reinstalling win and the game- this did work for a while but it came back
2) different drivers for my nvidia card - made no diff
3) changed the settings.ini to ensure everythings on medium settings and that the FOV - 55.
4) updated soundcard drivers (onboard realtek jobby)
5) ran a memory stress test to ensure it wasnt the ram
6) ran a gpu stress test to ensure it wasnt the gpu.
ive clocked the cpu - i7 950 up to about 3.3 but have now put it back down to std 3.06 or whatever it is..
Checked its not the psu by unplugging eveything except for the system drive and gpu.
Ive done a debugging, which intially suggested it was falling over a nvidia driver file. so have used about 3 diff versions of nvidia driver, old and new.. Still happens..
Ive read up on this and a few people have suffered from it - i have a feeling its either down to oc'ing (cant prove but have a suspicion _ dodgy cpu?) or an update that EA have released that doesnt work so well with my gpu/nvidia drivers(surely it'd be moer common)?
Any ideas would be most grateful..
PS ive noticed it happen in portal 2 also, so not jsut bfbc2..
