BFBC2 no dialogue sound

Just got my copy of the game. when I start the story it seems to not have no sound when a person speaks but there is sound for everything else ie music and effects. A mate told me to go to my control panel and look at my sound settings and change the sound plaback to stero headphones because I'm using headphone. but then i go back back to the game and the sound still does not work. Any help from you guys? (I am using xp)

I got the same problem, but only noticed it in single player, or can you hear the voices in mp? Running on win7 64bit and 5.1 surround system. I tried to change the sound settings in game several times without success

This all happend just suddenly, I already played through the campaign with everything working (=awesomeness) Anyway, it can't be the OS or speakers/headset..

Go to Mydocs\BFBC2\

Open settings.ini and amend the line Speaker Count=0 to 2.

Should do the trick.

Solved the issue for me with a 2:1 speaker setup.
