BFBC2 Stutter

i just upgraded my gfx from a 4850 to a 5870 and the stutter is still awful in BFBC2, i'm playing at all high settings @ 1920x1080 and i get around 40-60 fps on average which is kind of low considering my brother with his tri-core AMD (cant remember its name) and 5850 get pretty much a solid 60 at the same settings but his is silky smooth and no stutter at all.

Is his tri core clocked at 3.3ghz better than my E8500 @ 4ghz at running this game? or is it some bug that im experiencing?

thanks for the replies guys, it stutters on both single and multiplayer. had a go of MoH and thats smooth and always maxed at 62fps so i'm guessing its all down to the cpu....will have to look at upgrading that now too, damn this is an expensive game to play

is there any kind of benchmark that takes multicores into account other than vantage?
