People to play Bfbc2 with?

Wanna give this a try again, not played it in a month or 2 and i think i was lvl 27 or somthing but i find it very boring playing on my own without people to comunicate with so im looking for a non competive clan or just a group of friends who like to play. anyone intrested can pm me on steam or leave a message here thanks. :D

You should hop on the TFU server and have some games there with us lot. Their vent is always open so you can just jump on and have a laugh with the guys. Only reason I don't is cuz I prefer normal to hardcore mode tbh. I may have to give it another shot though cuz all my mates gave up on BC2 ages ago and are stuck into Eve :rolleyes: Details are in the main BC2 thread for their vent/server
 
I've started playing it again, along with people I know from my TF2 clan.
Just as frustrating and awesome as ever, the server browser and friends framework is still terrible (cant join people if you have to scroll down on your friends list to see them .. wtf?!) And some of the weapon balance is still pretty terrible (M60 and improved explosives still OP) Knife hit detection can be pretty dodgy too.

Still, get a few people you know on mumble and it can provide some great moments.

If you add me I play on a couple of servers that are 24 man with a very good connection and are clan servers with general focus on team work and points

Im dont really like hardcore at all and i cant find the TFU main site.

The biggest difference I've noticed as a BF 1942 fan is the downsize in maps and a greater focus on infantry. There's no planes, with only a minority of helicopters plus the usual tanks and bmps.

The gameplay is therefore quite a bit faster paced but not as far as COD4 and MW2 which IMO are over paced. Imagine Berlin map in BF 1942 in modern times.

BF:BC2 continues the squad tactics brought about in BF2 with no huge differences I've noticed. There isn't any commander role which I find a relief although its own role has been split around each infantry soldier, ie. recon can still call in mortar strikes, assault can provide ammo, medic with health etc. And the spotting system which the commander could use in BF2 has been applied to everyone so that you can highlight enemies you have identified which appear on everyone elses HUD.

You'll like it if you enjoy a faster paced game, and enjoy infantry based combat. If you primarily enjoyed the openness of BF 1942 with a greater dependence on vehicles and flying then probably.not.
 
Well even though I do play CoD I think the lack of dedi servers ruins it, very hit and miss game... literally, the hit box and lag issues are awful!

Is BC2 'realistic' or more of an arcade blaster i.e. do choppers go down with one rocket or four etc? It does annoy me in most games that player objects are way too tough.

It might be on discount this week so I could give it a try.
 
COD4 has become the Ravonholme of games for me since BC2 came out, BC2 is such an awesome game that "we dont go there anymore" I tried to play COD4 but after 3 months of BC2 it looks rubbish, its repetative and its too fast and frag based. I'm uninstalling COD4 later as I wont be playing the multi player again but will probably blip through the single player again at some point

A word of warning though, BC2 needs a high end system to run it well if you want the eye candy, its not like COD4 where it runs blisteringly fast on a calculater

I think my graphics card will be the weakest link, I've got a Phenom II tri-core at 3.9GHz, 4GB ram and a 4870 512MB...

What GPU do you have? I still have an old GPU and run it maxed, its a very CPU intensive game and since upgrading the rest of my system and keeping my old GPU it runs smoother but with higher settings

I have an 8800GTS 640

It was in my post, a 4870 512MB.

Which if memory serves me right is quicker than the GTS (I upgraded from a GTS 640).

In which case the game isn't that GPU intensive at all, good news for me!
