I have just noticed the heat of my graphics card whilst in games. How hot is ok for graphics cards these days.

It is running up to 70c. No clocking just normal settings.

Thanks

70c is about normal especially for a overclocked card.

If you are using something like RivaTuner, you can always manually adjust the fan speed to keep it cooler with the sacrifice of higher noise.

My Zotac GTX280 is around 64c with 45% fan speed. 59c if I up it to 55%.

Im not bothered it has a ten year garrantee :D

Just checking its the norm

Thanks

my BFG GTX 285 OC was running at 80C with stock cooling and fan was speeding up after 81C. When buying it I thought that it will run cooler than GTX 280 but no.

Up to 105C is fine, after that the card will throttle/shut down to protect the card.

My GTX280 @ 702/1458/2400 gets up to 83C in games in a case that has very little airflow.

I have owned
2 x Gainward GTX280 @ 602
1 x BFG GTX280 OC @ 615
1 x BFG GTX280 OC2 @ 650

After about 5 - 10mins of furmark pretty much all the cards above topped out @ 86Deg C

Sorry Mate, that's not acceptable.

If your card is seeing 105c under Crysis RMA it!

Hehe, my card does not go to 105C, as soon as the card gets to 85C the fan goes to 100% and keeps the temperature ~87C running Furmark

Hey guys, kind of on topic lol, but my 280 is watercooled but using a single block cooler, have got heatsinks on all of the memory, but nothing cooling the VRM's.
In GPU-Z the VDDC slave temps are around 50c but if I load something like crysis up they can go upto 80c, is this a big problem?
Have ordered a swiftech full face heatsink think which hopefully im going to mod to fit with a EK-VGA supreme :p

Hmm,

All I can say is that your Water Cooled Load temp is directly proportional to a Stock heat sink unit?

That's a probable Cause For Concern!

Is it on a single loop? is that loop under strain?
