card is not overclocked - neither is CPU ...all stock.

card now (while typing this) - been at 70c (lowest been 68 that Ive seen)...

while running a couple of games (dont really play many now...) Oblivion - Rfactor .... Oblivion has made the core popup come on at 120... .. so I got rivatuner to make fan go 100% - temp then seems to goto 110... Ive not ran the games anymore...

While running the 3d view in ATI tool - 2 mins in temp 110 ... dunno if it will go higher... I stopped it....

have emailed BFG - they asked about cooling in the case... and blow a fan across the card - so I got a deskfan -highest setting and dont seem to matter... same kinda temps.

Motherboard is 32c now and cpu 36 (this dont seem to go over 50 according to MBM)

What you reckon guys ... card about knackered ?

Still waiting to see what BFG come up with in the mean time.... dunno if I can find the receipt tho :(

Any thoughts ?
and anybody sent a card back to BFG - where they at ?
TIA

That is definitely too hot and it does sound like its overheating

It is possible that the heatsink on the GPU has clogged up with dust, acting as a great insulator and severly reducing the effectiveness of the heatsink. I'd try removing the card and blowing compressed air through the heatsink to clear the impregnated dust

i see theres a few little screws on the top - do you think I should maybe unscrew these and see if theres dust in there - or is it a pain to get back on ?

thanks for your reply.

I would just try to see if you can blow the dust out first

The heatsink shouldn't be difficult to remove but you can void your warranty doing this and you'll need to replace the thermal heatsink compound :)

just got an email from BFG - asking if I would like to setup a warranty replacement.... guess Ill go this route and see what happens... bumma no Pc for a while I guess !

Have tried blowing the dust out - there was a little but temps still the same

Undoing the tiny screws on top removes the thin metal cover over the heatsink. By doing this you'd be able to more easily clear any dust from it.

ok went for it - nothing major I guess.. lo and behold gunked up heatsink

quick clean of that - popped back in..

Now idles at 51
and that nice little furry cube in Ati Tool that sent it to 110+ now reaches about 70 after five minutes....

Looks like revived card phew.... Will do me for now.

thanks for the input guys :D
