I've just finished my build (specifications In Signature), I've entered the BIOS and found the memory settings (Newbie Alert).

Now the settings are 5-5-5-18 1.85v. The recommended settings for the Corsair Dominators are 4-4-4-12 2.1v, i would have to use expert to allow these to be altered but there is another setting saying (AUTO) - (T1) - (T2).

What do i do. I've noticed within the nVidia nForce Monitor that the memory square is yellow on voltage, whilst the others like CPU, GPU are all green.

Need Assistance in setting up my 680i Motherboard.

I think that T1/T2 is the command rate. Its a memory timing setting, and I think it should be set to T2 unless you know any better. T1 is faster than T2, but very little memory I think is T1.

I also have a 680SLi board, in fact the exact same one you have, I'll see what mine is set to.

That would be great, thanks. At the moment the BIOS is all in standard settings looking to optimize it to get the best performance not looking to overclock just yet awaiting a cpu cooler.

Thanks Melbourne720 your a star.

It's a Zalman CNPS9700-NT nVidia Tritium Super Aero Flower Cooler.

Heard about the backplate has to be phyiscally altered to allow the resisters on the back of the cpu socket to fit.

nVidia have said that the new revision 680i have been altered because of this. Not sure if mine is a revision but it came with a P21 BIOS so hope so don't fancy cutting plastic on a brand new cpu cooler.

I've updated to P24 but my idle temps are 50c now. Could be my Case and my Power Supply as it doesn't have a 8pin it has a 4pin for cpu power, not got the Corsair Power Supply yet.

50 Idle seems a bit high. Mine is 42oC, so make sure you have at least 1 fan in and one out.

Just got a load of 120mm Nexus fans sitting on my desk, going to put them in my case at the weekend. :D That and a bit of cable tidying should lower my temps a little.

That's a nice cooler, hope it fits okay. If it doesn't send it back and get a tuniq. A little noisy on full wack but it cools really well. Hopefully I should be able to solve the noise issue with a nexus fan in it :D

I thought it was a tad high at idle don't think my case is good enough need a bigger case got 120mm fan at back and front but don't seem to be doing the job think its the cpu cooler.

I'm replacing the CPU Cooler and PSU this week then looking into a new case end of the month possibley a Thermaltake Tsunami Case or a Lian Li case.

EDIT: Intel SmartFan was enabled just turned that off idle temp whilst browsing the net, etc seems to be droping to 44-45c slowly altered fan inside case to both point inside seems to be cooling down. The chipset appears to be the hottest part of the system now, 47c.

Pewwww! i shut the system off for an hour and it's been on now for 30 mins being doing some things and it's now idle around 41c - 42c, System Chipset seems to be the hottest at around 45c - 47c.

Do i need to alter the memory voltage to 2.1v and then adjust the timings, at the moment the nVidia nForce Monitor is displaying a yellow square on the memory voltage is this because it's not set at it's recommended voltage.

Also what else should i be looking in the BIOS for to enable or disable?

You need to set your memory to expert and SLI enabled. It should then pick up SPD correctly. Leave voltage on auto or set it manually. Mine run at 2.1 which is still within spec (1.8-2.1) 4-4-4-12, this is what is detected at spd.

Just enabled it now, is it required to be either Linked or Unlinked chose the other to Auto. Is that all that needs to be done?

Also when i open the nVidia nForce Monitor even though the memory is now at it's correct settings SLi Enabled, it's showing a yellow box by the memory voltages, do i ignore that as it was showing the same at 1.85v.

EDIT: 4-4-4-12-T2 2:3.

It depends what your cpu(FSB) speed is. If you don't want to overclock the memory run it unlinked and type in the speed it is specced at (800?). Linked is linked to the FSB speed QDP so 1400 FSB is 1400 'linked to your memory' so you that would obviously be too high. You can also run it linked in async which overclocks it aswell(the way most intel boards work) but not to the extent of linked. Personally I like unlinked and set it to what value I like best.

Forget Ntune for monitoring voltages. At best its a pile of tosh. If your memory is the dominators c4 then you can run between 1.9 and 2.1v without any fear of warranty reprisals. If you leave the voltage on auto it will 'auto' use the best voltage, which if you are overclocking it will be 2.1 ;) .

Ah excellent all at it's specifications now noticed it's a lot quicker too. Another thing i need to ask you is this. Do these spread spectrums need to be enabled on all or disabled.

When i boot my PC from a cold boot windows starts up perfect first time but if i do a restart from within windows for some reason when windows loads up after the welcome screen the pc will reboot and load windows again and login fine.

Any ideas on what that is?

Thanks for your help W3bbo.

Disable all the spread spectrums, especially if you are overclocking.

Can't help you with the other bit, never had that problem myself.

OK i'll do that now anything else should i be looking for to enable or disable, my Hard Disk is working as ide mode 133 is it supposted to do that as it's a SATA-II drive.

EDIT: I've disabled the spread spectrum on all and it appears it's fixed my windows restart reboot problems.
