BFG 680i nforce SLI mother board CPU change issues - help

Hi guys,

My mate phoned me with a problem, he has the above mobo and is changing from:

old CPU core two dueo e6700 2.66gh 4mb l2 1066 fsb

to

New CPU core two due 3.00 ghz 6mb L2 cash 1333 fsb.

It gets stuck on error 18, when he posts. Does he need to change something in the bios/other to get his new cpu to work please?

you might need to update the bios for the new chip to work as it is one of the new 45nm chips

Oh right.
It was rather hard talking my mate through it on the phone, update the bios you say. hmm.
