I have had my BFG 7900gt since the summer, but in the past month or so I have been having problems. In games I get lots of coloured lines apearing, transprancey on trees etc sometimes stop working. In HL2 I get long lines coming out of models that go all the way in to the sky. It is not always constant, but normaly starts to happen after an 30 mins or so of gaming. Once it has happened it will keep doing it even after re loading a game.
Recently the second DVI output stopped working as well, it will only display an image if I use a vga adapter on it .
I keep reading about 7900's doing this, is my card a RMA job? if so should I go to BFG, or overclockers as I got it from them.

Thanks chaps.

Try running Rivatuners hardware monitor in the background while game, alt+tab out when the artifacts occur and see what your temps are like.

Certainly sounds like overheating.

Goes up to 52 playing Stalker multiplayer beta, after a few minutes models where spazzing out, there where thick black planes flying around.

My GTX has developed a habit of doing this (XFX) :(

What sometimes works is changing the resolution etc. in game.

my X1900 GT did this my temps were high 60s in game and i got these lines.................i had to RMA it..........still waiting for a replacement

Should I RMA it back to ocuk? as its almost unplayable in stalker, I get huge smeared polygons covering half the screen.

I have a lot of computer based uni work I need to be doing for the next few weeks. Do RMA's normaly take very long? I dont want to send it off if I will be without a graphics card for weeks.

Well mines ganna take 4 weeks.

so far

OCUK took 1 week to test (great service :D)

then i got an email saying it normally takes 4 weeks..........ive waited 2 weeks...........3 in total includeing the time it spent at ocuk
