BFG 8800GT Cold boot problem

Could be power (as power consumption in the first few seconds is more or less maximum. with HD's dragging themselves up to speed etc), but if it were power, you'd get errors when gaming/throwing load onto it.


Could also try letting it sit on the black screen for a little while before attempting a reboot


Not a Gigabyte mo'board by any chance is it?
Mine's downright stroppy after the mains has been unplugged.
 
I have a friend who has a 8800gt on the same motherboard and he had this problem, he had 2x1 gig of geil memory, he decided he wanted to add another 2x1 gig not related to his boot problem and when he added it his cold boot problem has gone completly now, could you have a ram issued with the board ?
 
He never had one issue with his pc everything worked as it should have, just always the cold boot problem.
