Hi
:(

Just got a new 8800gt 512mb oc back a couple of days ago after having to RMA my old card. I was getting weird artifacts on the screen along with lock ups in every game i played. Installed the new card and guess what, its worse than the one i sent back. Artifacts, tearing, games freezing and reverting to 4 colours. I tried playing a vid and i get hundreds of small artifacts on the screen. Rebooting the pc does'nt help after a couple of minutes its off again. Both cards rarely exceeded 65 degrees they average about 50 degrees and fans are controlled via Rivatuner. I have tried various nvidia drivers but they make no differance. The pc is made up of good quality componants: asus p5k premium, corsair dominator memory 620 watt corsair psu E8200 core 2 duo cpu etc. After looking up these problems on the internet there appears to be a very large amount of people who are suffering the same problems. The card is overclocked by BFG but only by a small amount. Can this be the problem? I cant complain about BFGs RMA setup as i had the new card within 6 days from sending off the old one. To get a new one giving worse problems than the old one is dissappointing. I have contacted them to ask for some help and also emailed Jeff Kozlowski whos name i found on the forum. Am i asking too much to have a differant model replace this second 8800GT as i am losing all faith in these cards. I would even be willing to pay towards a replacment as long as i dont get back another 8800GT. Do the 9800 models suffer these problems?

Has anyone found a way of fixing this 8800GT problem?

Just to be sure, I'd try underclocking the card a bit. See if the issue goes away. First thing I'd do anyway.

Thanks for the reply

BFG have told me to RMA it again. This time they say they will test the replacment before its sent out.
