right this is how it goes, i currently have BFG 8800GTS G92 revision running in my system. upstairs i have a spare EVGA 8800GTS 320mb with ACS3 cooler on it (big black thing), wandering if the ACS3 cooler is better/quieter and can be swapped with no modification? do the original and G92 models use same mounting holes, etc.? cheers in advance guys :)

I think nobody can be more certain than you yourself actually try putting the 8800GTS 320MB cooler onto your 8800GTS 512MB.

I can however tell you this...my previous card was a 8800GTS 320MB, and I bought a Akasa Vortexx NEO for it...but discover that the mount holes were not in the right places for the pin of the Akasa Vortexx NEO, which I later found out that the Akasa Vortexx NEO is compatable with the G92 8800GTS 512MB, but not the G80 8800GTS 320MB/640MB.

And the irony thing is I now got a 9800GTX+ 512MB, which is G92...I tried to install the Akasa Vortexx NEO onto it...the holes positions are in the right places for the pin of the Akasa Vortexx NEO, but guess what? The damn capacitors at the end of the card is getting in the way! So the Akasa Vortexx NEO is back in the box and continue to collect dust like it did for the pass couple of years lol

sounds annoying, decided not to bother, the BFG stock cooler seems good enough TBH. might try swapping for ACS3 sometime but not today...
