i bought a bfg 8800gts 640mb on friday , loaded it up but when i play cod2 i get graphic glitches on the screen , these appear as small flecks appearing an dissapearing all the time , has anyone got any ideas wether its fault or some setting i havent got right , any suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Update to the latest drivers from the nvidia site.
2. are u using XP or vista ???
3. Whats your Power supply ???
4. Try it on other games as well

hi , it does the same thing on the latest drivers
i'm running windows xp
psu is a tagan 480w
tried cod uo and its really stuttery , but i've read it does have issues with coduo somewhere.

I have similar issues in NFS Most Wanted, getting areas on objects that wobble about and don't like right! Latest drivers and patched, weird!

If it's white specks appearing all over the screen (sparkles), then that's usually the gpu core overheating, or overclocked too far. What are the temps like?

You could try lowering the gpu speed by 50Mhz to see if the problem goes away. If it does, and temps are ok, then I'd rma the card.

Have you patched Call of Duty 2 to the latest update?. If not then try that.

If it's still happening then what about checking that PSU. I think it's a little low but I'm not too clued up on PSU's. What is the amperage on the 12v rail?.

Could you also spec the rest of your hardware please. You never know it might help :).

Think formatting pc is a bit ott - possibly remove drivers, run drivercleaner pro and re-install drivers but monitor temps.

only just had time to check my card out again , still getting these random flecks appearing on the screen during cod2 , also when i ran 3dmark 05 i got lines down the screen and a few white flecks on the flying boat section , do you think its a borked card ? , also temps are good , driver cleaner pro done and fresh driver install , still the same

That PSU looks a bit light. I am using a Corsair 620w with mine with no problems,I think they recommend a PSU of at least 500w

Thats a bit worrying, I have a Tagan 480W PSU too and was about to order an 8800GTS 640Mb as someone said a few posts ago that PSU was man enough for a GTS but not a GTX..!!

Hmmm...more expense!

i really dont think its anything to do with my psu , i tried it in a friends set up which had a tagan 700w psu and it still does the same , as a lot of threads say on here as long as you've a decent branded psu about 400+W it'll work just fine , its back at overclockers today anyway , took it there myself , just gota wait and see what they say now. :)

just an update , took the card back ,left it with ocuk , card was knackerd 3d corruption , got new card now working great , thanks ocuk very quick turnaround. :D

Nice one ;). I've seen a lot of people having knacked cards, sending them back and still having problems. (just talking about HIS x1900 from all the threads on here).

Glad to know that some of the problems are getting picked up. Good work OCUK ;) .
