Hi , i am thinking of getting a gts or a gtx and really wanted to know what stable oc could i expect out of a gtx , also looking at the already overclocked versions but wondering if they will be in stock on the 17th Jan as the Evga ones dont seem a bad price.

They really wont need overclocking for at least 6 months. They should be able to play any game with max aa and af at 1600x res or 1280x really steady high fps.

So is it worth saving a few quid and getting a gts and maybe adding another when they come down a bit, next purchase being a 24" monitor so i will be stressing the graphics a bit more than on my 17"

Lolcb noticed you have the xfx , are you pleased with them

I have 2 of them and yes I am very pleased with them. I used to have XFX 7950GX2 as well. So far they have worked great.

I would seriously recommend reading what Gibbo has to say about XFX before considering a purchase. BFG and EVGA stand out a mile as fantastic and reliable companies, and I would highly recommend them for any Nvidia card as their warranties and support cannot be beat.

For obvious reasons, this will be my last post in this thread regarding this particular subject. ;)

hmmm , not very nice reading , i really want evga but i dont know if they are going to be here in time

I wouldn't bother with the pre overclocked ones. My stock one does 660/2200 and I've seen quite a few go further. Most should do 630/2000

After all my dilemma , i have decided on the bfg , price and warranty really , i cant really afford an overclocked version so bfg it is , thanks for your help all, cant wait :)

You won't be disappointed. Fantastic price/performance and amazing aftersales and support. :)

I have, got nothing but good things to say about them.

Heard nothing but good things about EVGA too, same with MSI. :)

Which BFG card did you buy?

No doubt about eVGA, they are good. Don't know about MSI.

Erm, read the thread and notice an argument didn't happen?
Give me something to read, the last one was so entertaining.

Not arguing, just confirming that he did purchase a BFG card and received their aftersales service to support what he said eariler.
No no, of course not. I read your ninja edit before, just as well I thought.
