I bought this card a week ago from overclockers.co.uk. Since I bought it I've had random lockups in windows. Recently I've even started to get random visual clitched in windows as well (loads of colourful dots on the screen). It looks like an overclocking problem, but this card is at defualt speed and my Nvidia settings tab says the core is at 55c (well below the 120c max listed on the tab).

The other possibility is that my powersupply isn't powerful enough for this card. Its a cheap Casecom 500W PSU. If it helps this is a picture of my MBM5 dashboard (so you can see the voltages ect):

So, does anyone know what the problem is?

The problem has now gotten much worse. Whenever my PC starts the screen is ok until its about to go to the desktop and then either the monitor will go off or I'll get a mess of colours on the screen and then the monitor will go off. If I start in safe mode it works, if I uninstall the drivers and run windows like that it also works (that's how I'm posting at the moment). But no matter what I do as soon as I reinstall the drivers I get the same problem (wierd colours and then monitor turning off). I've tried using a different driver (the latest one straight from Nvidia rather then the BFG one) and I've even tried using system restore, which made absolutely no difference. This has to be a hardware problem and to me it seems like the card is dying. Does anyone have anything to suggest? (I'd especially like to hear from an OcUK employee).

Now I'm starting to get corrupt displays even without the drivers installed. This card is a freaking nightmare!!!

Hmm a cheap 500watt PSU could be giving out low amps compaired to a say 350watt branded one.

Can you borrow a psu or take your card to someones PC ?

sounds like a dodgy card to me.

when the power is low it usually leads to BSODs, the alarm thing going off or unexplainable restarts.

ive never had one give sparklies and artifacts from having low power anyway
