BFG GeForce Card Problems?

Howdy,

Just wanna know if anyone else experiences problems with their BFG GeForce cards?

I have the BFG GeForce 7800GTX OC and pretty much had nothing but trouble with it.

Firstly every now and then (it still does it to this day) I get no signal sent to my monitor and have to force the pc to a reboot via the power switch... which I dont like doing.

And recently the fan has started making a really loud noice whilst running, forcing me to reboot which then makes it go back to its normal volume. It done it just now (aswell as the above issue) and I actually gave my pc a quick quick and that fixed it :)

I've cleaned the fan properly on the card and that hasn't worked either.

Just wondering if I am the only one with problems with these cards? I want a replacement, and am waiting for a reply to my email.

Who do you recommend as the best make for GeForce cards? i.e. Leadtek, XFX etc? BFG seem to be the nost expensive, so are the other brands worse?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Steve M

apart from the noise issue you have it sounds like the signal bit is a cold boot issue. look into it more with your motherboard its more likely to be the cause of necessary reboots.

Cheers james... but what sorta issue would it be with my mobo? A setting? Or a hardware issue?

I have the Asus A8N-SLi SE nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-101-AS)

Check the Motherboard slot to make sure none of the gold pins are damaged because sometimes they are very difficult to see. If one pin is damaged then you will have a problem. Could be the graphic is faulty. I hope this helps.

Hmmm Ill give that a try and see if there are any probs with it... hope not, but I'll give it a check anyway.

Any other ideas, please let me know :)
