Just received a GX2 (2 of them, 1 for me, 1 for mate) from OCUK, and both had the pci brackets (the long bit that slots into the edge of mobo) bent inwards about 20 degrees..was able to straighten it out.

Just wondering if anyone has received there one in this crap state ?

My GT came with a bent bracket, took me an hour to realize why it wouldn't sit in the PCI-E slot snugly, just bent it straight, job done.

I reckon it's just being careless in factory...and the metal on the gx2 is very soft and pliable....only problem now is top of bracket wont line up with both screw holes. Have to bend it in. Pants.

My m8 from Holland was furious and sent it back taking a full refund (9600GT). Me and a couple of others told him to bend it back and slot it in but he was having none of it.

I'd just bend it back and stick it in without thought. Only if it didn't work and no damage elsewhere then I wouldn't care as long as I had me my new card :).

Its quite common for a lot of PCI cards. Ive had a couple in the past. They tend to make it out of the thinnest metal possible.

I had it on my 8800GT, but to fit it into my case I ended up bending it even more :D.

I seem to recall someone on this forum complaining about the same problem and he RMA'd the card, extreme waste of time and money just over a piece of bent metal that is only there to secure the card in the pc case.

Two BFG 8800 GTs ordered the other week, both had the bent bracket. Bent them back with no real problem though.

You think when paying mega bucks for a gx2 they would take care with the quality control. I test fitted both of them, and had to arse with the top of the brackets too (part you put 2 thumbscrews into to). The edges were bent out of shape and couldn't install the top thumbscrew as hole would not line up. Had to get out the pliars. Thing is I won't know if either of them works until the ram arrives

Mine arrived fine but the BFG packaging is a bit pants.

And another thing they could improve is the registering for the warranty.I registered mine last month on the BFG site and emailed my pop but it's still showing as warranty not complete please fax or email your pop:mad:
