BFG RMA Advice Wanted

I have returned my faulty 8800GTX 786 OC2 to the manufacturers for repairs. The are sending me a replacement card, GTS250 1024 OCE.

I noticed that other users are getting higher specification card as replacement. Is the replacement a lower spec card? compared to 8800 GTX OC2. I spent around £400 for my old card, which was 2 years old.

I feel as if I have been downgraded.

Can someone please give me advice, what can I do?

The card is being picked up from, WAUKEGAN, IL is that from USA? ETA 27/7 but had I originally sent the card on the 16/7/09 for replacement.

There is little in it probably. In some cases it will be faster, in others maybe a tad slower (due to memory bandwidth)

For comparison, when I RMAed my 8800gtx oc2 i got a stock 8800ultra.

I reckon the new card will be a touch faster in almost all situations. They are only required to replace with an equivelant card, not upgrade you. They've done their part fairly.
Remember that 9800GTX replaced the 8800GTX and was faster sometimes, slower sometimes. The 9800GTX+ (Which is what a 250 is) was clocked faster, offfering more performance still. This card doubles the memory to 1GB. I think it is an upgrade albiet a minor one.

I'd be happy with that, I'm expecting a 9800GTX back an RMA for a 8800GTX XT from XFX going by what's being reported on the internet :(
