I have a 8800GTX OC2, will they replace with an upgrade as i take it the 8800GTX is not manufactured anymore??

ta

Did anyone have to fill out a webform to get the confirmation form and shiping invoice??
One email told me to send just the card to an address and another telling me to print off a form to send with it?!?!
I wouldnt find this problem but to access my form its asking me to enter my 10 digit phone number and i supplied an 11 digit phone number originally?!?

Just incase anyone else gets two RMA emails with one requesting you to access a web form with shipping invoice etc.. ignore this. All you do is send the card with the RMA number and maybe a return address, name and phone number.

Never had that at all, i phoned up first in the hope they'd just set up an RMA there and then, was informed to email the support address. Which just took all the details down such as the problem, pc spec, card serial number, bfg serial number and contact details. Then forwarded over an RMA # and postal address :)

Oh yea, i should state first thing i did was use their online form to contect tech support. You enter your name, email, purchase info, the issue with your pc specs.

They then contact you back within a few hours requesting serial number and model and return address.

They then supply an RMA number and address but in my case i also got an extra email linking to this supposed web form with an shipping invoice to print off. Well you ignore this as its only relevent to US customers (the form doesnt work anyways as it requests a 10 digit phone number)

Anyways hope this helps anyone else.

Oh dear, well i have to say my week off work if partly ruined by no PC gaming and if my xmas is ruined by no gfx card i also will not go with bfg again. If im treated right by them then they have a customer for life and if not i won be sillent in my opinion of them.
They really should sort out the email that links to a 10 digit phone number, i to was going to wait for a reply asking what to do but instead i took he gamble and sent off straight away.
From what i do know they have recieved my card on tueday at 6:30am... the clocks ticking BFG.

As they state 24-48 for processing time i guess i should wait until tomorrow before worrying where my replacement is. However coming up to xmas this is the only time of the year where i get a good amount of gaming done. Hope Jeff will oblige in finding out my RMA status and if i shouldnt get my hopes up to get any gaming done before xmas.

Tell us what you get back too! i got ultras back when my 8800GTX OC2 packed up

Hurray, got my replacement back today. In return for my broken 8800gtx OC2 i got a 260 OC. Thats a minor upgrade so im happy (2-10 fps difference depending on the game). Got no feedback as to what i would get but then i didnt contact support after i sent it apart from a quick email to Jeff who got back saying he'll see what he could do to speed up the replacement.

Plugged it in... a quick reboot to sort out its drivers... sorted. Went back into playing GTA4 and its up'ed my graphics settings to high texture, nice one.

Do not believe it!! My replacement card has done exactly the same thing. I come to turn on PC today and no display and gfx card fan at full!!
The spec of my machine is perfectly good, well ventilated, no faults as far as i know, my Corsair HX620 watt PSU is working stable. I just dont get it!?
Guess im gonna have to RMA the replacement gtx 260 aswell.

My only reasoning is that since playing GTA4 that has caused this!!
Is GTA4 making heavy use of graphics cards??

Been a bit tied up lately, but I will look into all of the issues at hand and I'll make sure that they get taken care of. I'll do my best to contact you guys within the next few days to get this sorted out :)

Thanks Jeff.

Have agree with the UK contact not being 24/7/365 support. Sent a reply to my previous emails about getting an RMA setup but no answer since writing to support yesterday.
I can understand not working certain times of year but BFG shouldn't advertise that they do.

Oh yea i should point out i went to the support webpage first and attempted to contact through the web form, i decided not to after i saw it doesnt list 200 series graphics cards!?!

Just started playing GTA4 and in the last two days this has happened twice from a cold boot. Restarting sorts out the problem, otherwise my 320mb gts oc2 just goes on full fan and no display. This is starting to seem like its not a coincidence. I also have the same PSU if it means anything.

Wooohh, now if this happens for more than a few people then its more than a coincidence!
Restart doesnt work for me, even left PC on to warm up; heh i've tried everything to get it back into life. The card is fried somehow even though when i last turned it off it was perfectly fine! I could understand the card breaking during gameplay but this...crazy ?!?!

EDIT: Whaaaaat the ****!! AlexHull you is da man... ok well i didnt try everything i guess.
So i turned PC on; fan on max and no display as before, then hit reset button still nothing pressed it again still nothing... held it down for 3 secs... still nothing... tried it again for 3 secs and well once more for the sake of it and bing.... the fan slowed down... bios came up saying no keyboard connected - DISPLAY signal hurrah! reset button once more and now boots up all fine.

Absolutely crazy, gonna check bios settings.. but nothing changed since i built it over a year ago. So can anyone explain this one??

UPDATE: Seems a mobo + mem issue. Issue happened again and like previous attempts cmos reset didnt work. Seems to be a very random. Memory with bios seemed to develop an incompatibility?! Took 2 of the 4 sticks out got a display again, changed some voltage for memory settings, few other minor tweaks to slow memory timings, put extra mem sticks back in, reboot and works.

Seems odd why when i got a replacement gfx card the system was fine for a bit, maybe mobo detecting a new gfx at boot reset some bios settings that let it display and boot?! Not ruling out a mobo fault developing but working for time being. All in all argh.

Alexhull24, do you have custom memory timing? (i mean mobo memory not gfx card)
So far resetting these seems to have made effect although perhaps too early to tell.
If it happens again i dont know what to do except try a cmos reset and failing that take some mem sticks out.

ive read back, it wants a 10 digit phone number, uk is 11 digit, so i cant put mine in

I already stated what to do; Ignore the online form requesting that 10 digit number. Its an automated response setup for USA customers, UK BFG have got the same system that cant change for our own regional phone numbers i guess.

What board do you have? Mine is in sig. I am running 'custom' timings as they are not what the board defaults to with this RAM, but they are what the memory is supposed to run at. (4-4-4-12). I also upped the voltage by 0.1V to 1.9V (I think, the mobo doesnt tell me actual). The CPU is OC/d aswell, that's the only change i've made recently, however it is a minor overclock, hardly amazing, and temps are always less than 60 deg.

I got a abit IP35 pro. Its oc'ed Q6600 @3.4 (stable). Memory was 4-4-12 at 2.1v as stated it was the manufacturers (corsairs) recommended. Now they are at STD settings still with the 2.1v.

Seems adjusting mem timing causes issues now with the mobo and so the gfx card doesnt boot up and so no display.

Send back just the card.
And yea it would seem they dont check the card from what others have said. I begining to think i sent back a perfectly good gfx card, oh well got a upgrade for my hastle.
