Over at hardocp it says BFG Tech Announces Exit From Graphics Card Category, i am sorry for them to stop,i have liked them to make ati and nvidia cards than for them to stop all together.

That's a big shame. They were definitely one of, if not the best brand out there with excellent products and unmatched customer service. I guess that was partly their downfall, since people exploited their warranty to get free upgrades.

Nvidia mostly as they EOL most of thier old gen cards

probably why XFX jumped boat

nVidia and a bit of misfortune. BFG seemed like a great brand and some dedicated people... but even taking those people abusing the warranty out the picture their cards unfortunatly have an abysmal failure rate :S

yeah but what good was that to BFG? as not all went to them

also what about the time Nv was not producing hardly any cards cos most was EOL

Quote from BFG.

BFG Technologies today announced their exit from the graphics card category. The company will continue to sell their line of BFG Tech power supplies as well as their Deimos gaming notebooks and Phobos gaming systems.

"After eight years of providing innovative, high-quality graphics cards to the market, we regret to say that this category is no longer profitable for us, although we will continue to evaluate it going forward", said John Slevin, chairman of BFG Technologies. "We will continue to provide our award-winning power supplies and gaming systems, and are working on a few new products as well. I’d like to stress that we will continue to provide RMA support for our current graphics card warranty holders, as well as for all of our other products such as power supplies, PCs and notebooks."

BFG will continue to offer RMA, telephone and email support for qualified BFG Tech graphics card warranty holders, but will no longer be bringing new graphics card products to market.

Yeah I agree, I also think poor profitability with selling fermi probably put the finale nail in the coffin for BFG's GPU business.

I don't understand why they'd back out totally though? Why not just branch out to include ATI like XFX did?

So BFG are just going to be making power supplies now? Or what?

If you read the thread again you'll see they're not. They will continue to provide warranty support, this is the same case as when they stopped selling in Europe, fortunately.

well to be honest I'd never know as I'm not sure I've ever kept a piece of hardware for longer than 2 months, except for my trusty PSU.

The 260s are going for 5770s :p
