BFG ... The next BIG thing ?

March 2006.... thats either a very lame advert that means the 7900.... or it means they are wacking the physics chip on the graphics card!
Or maybe they are just bringing it out as a sep card :P either way.... gonna be interesting :D

Now that would be sweet. But all this hardware, is any one developing software to run with it...?

IIRC, Epic should be supporting the PhysX cards in UT2007. I imagine there are other developers offering support, but I don't know of them.

It could also just be an over-hyped buildup to the next generation of nvidia cards as well, of course, which would co-incide well with the March date.

Mmm, knowing how hyped up the "Power Of 3" from nVidia was its probably that!

Oh well, as I said, lets wait until March...

All of the Unreal Engine 3 games will support it

It has been made. there is rumour they have stocks of it already and the only reason its not released is because not enough games supported it.

But now many developers have jumped on board.

I cant believe people dont know about this??? theres been loads of threads detailing it for months,

Tom

Hi PhysX is a seperate card. :)

Only Asus and BFG will be producing such cards to begin with and OcUK will have exclusive rights to the BFG model. Its looking like a mighty impressive bit of kit and with a few more games backing it I suspect it will be a huge sucess. Yes its compatible with 7900's and X1900's. :)

ah cheers gibbo... was starting to think nvidia might have something up their sleeve.... well BFG are nvidia only ;)
On the ageia website there is a list of games that support it.... more than i thought, but not worth the reported £200? That figure accurate gibs, or am i talking about $200?

Hi m8

Pricing is to be confirmed, expect it to be anywhere between £130 - £190 +VAT area. In my view for what it does and the effect it has its great value and when games are properly written to support it things will be on a new level and we shall be adding them to our Ultima Extreme line of systems. :D
