Has anyone been there?

Apparently it's the biggest screen in the uk! Tempted to take a trip up to London just to see what it's like.:o

Is it worth a hour trip up on the train?

Yes, but make sure you get the premium seats that are further back. Centre position too.
If you sit towards the front, you'll find yourself having to look up for two hours.

Went there to see one of the Harry Potter films, standard seat off to the side. Was ok but slightly uncomfy. I'm going back next weekend to see Gravity in a premium seat quite central.

I don't think I'd go back if it's not rather central and nearer the back, but that might change once I go next weekend :D

Worth a trip but book only premium seats that are central. There is a subway on the left of Waterloo station that takes you to the IMAX which is on a roundabout. Might be worth turning the visit into a shopping/sighting trip as your journey is longish.

What are you planning to see?

No idea yet. May go up and see the new Hobbit film next month.

I've already booked to see Gravity at the Southampton IMAX, so I've missed the boat on that one.

I would only book the premium seats if you're tall. The regular seats aren't too bad

But it's definitely worth the experience, and just make sure if you're going you have good seats (I'd say 6 rows from back) otherwise it'll make your viewing experience uncomfortable

It's my favourite cinema. It's not quite as good as it was and there is now a Starbucks inside and the bar on the first floor has been changed to a standard cinema affair selling popcorn etc. But there is still a reasonably priced bar on the ground floor which is great for meeting friends before the film and discussing the film after.

The screen is indeed huge and the sound is extremely good. They still have a real person introduce the film at the start which is quite quaint :)
