Bi-metal Hole Saw and Drill

Starrett or Record are brands I would recommend, though aluminium is more forgiving than steel you could probably get away with cheap generic steel instead of bi-metal ones if it's for a one-off.

Can you just get any handheld or is it only a certain type that hold a holesaw?

And, for that matter, can you just get any holesaw? (obviously, with the correct diameter for the task)

G-Clamp a piece or block of wood to the other side if you can.

This will stop the centre pilot drill from going off centre...while the bore cutter works its magic. ;)
