You have less than two days before I rudely barge in and take up residence in your cell.

PARP!

I've moved my GPU folding PC from work to home and put it in an Antec 300.

Old.

Nice setup mate, is that two 8800GT's?

It's an 8800GT (256mb) and an 8800GS (384mb)

I've run into an issue I was expecting where one card gets much lower ppd than it should. This is because the two cards don't have the same number of shader processors. I've read that putting the card with the lower shader unit count into slot one can fix this issue but I can't do this because of the size of the GS's heatsink and the pci-e wifi nic I'm using.

Therefore the GS is getting 3100ppd now instead of 4900pdd. The GT is happily chugging along as 4900ppd as usual.

I've not tried the 2nd card with just the DVI-VGA adapter cos I've seen quite a few people making and using a 'VGA dummy', like the one i've made. This is so you can extend the desktop onto the 2nd card which is needed for folding under vista (from what i have read). Here's how you make one..

The whole lot is only drawing 204 watts from the socket with both cards folding. The CPU is a A64 3200 @ stock. It's under 50-65% load feeding the cards.

Nice one verbal - *looks over sholder* doh! yet another GPU folder on my tail and no borg farm to hold them off anymore.

And there's no way I can cool a 8800gt without fans until I've got my new passive rad mod sorted. There's always the office workstation...
