Just built a new computer

Opteron 144
Dfi Lan party expert
nVidia 7600gt
Hiper Type r 580w power supply
1 gb ram 3200

My problem is that everything power's on but the monitor remains on stand by.

Tried switching cables, moving the graphics card, different monitor, fiddling around with jumpers, but to no avail

There are some trouble shooting LED's at the bottom of the mobo. All four lights are red. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Ben.

Edit, even though my speaker is plugged in i'm getting no beeps.

Have you got the 4 pin ATX connector plugged in?

Try reseating the cpu and HSF and everything else. Then try it with the minimal amount of components (cpu, gfx and 1 stick of ram).

I added the 4 pin connector and nothing happened, as soon as i removed the connector the system lit up again.

Another question would the mobo power on at all if the CPU didnt work?

Try booting with one stick of ram in the top orange slot & you should have a 4 pin molex & a floppy connector plugged in as well.4 connectors in total

They come on 1 at a time detecting cpu,ram etc. Can't remember what's what.It will tell you in your mobo manual

Are your lights staying on ? Have you tried clearing the cmos the proper DFI way ? If the 4 lights are on it means it's not detecting the vid card i think

Make doulbe sure you have no stand offs in the wrong place and no way for mobo to be shorting out.

You do have all these plugged in
