Am I right in assuming that most people dont repair tubes anymore, they just replace the tube ?
Edit: I used the "Rema TipTop" stuff to repair it but thinking of getting a pack of these when I roder the tube - http://www.evanscycles.com/products/park/p02c-glueless-patch-kit-ec005508
Anyone used em ??
I patch when appropriate, although my MTB's are all on tubeless wheels. A proper rubber patch and vulcanising glue when used correctly is stronger that the self adhesive. But they do work if you can get a good seal with them.
Is it best to fit the patch with the tube inflated a bit so stop it stretching?

EDIT: Just on the brakes thing - How far should V-Brakes be away from the rim as standard? You can hardly even see light passing between the pad and the rim when the brake is released on mine... Is this normal? The brake lever travel seems ok for me... Is this the thing to look for? i.e. Adjust cable until lever feel is what you want when braking with the wheel not rubbing when lever not pressed?

Ummm gold jockey wheels. This wasn't just a whim, the SRAMs actually wore out in 3 months.![]()

I was wondering if : http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=35685 are any good?
Get what ever you can find the cheapest.Does the chain cycle any differently with 13t jockey wheels? I am curious as to whether it makes a difference or improvement over 11t.
Not at £10 a tubeGet what ever you can find the cheapest.

Help!
I'm looking for a new mountain bike but haven't been keeping an eye on what's what for about 15 years now. Back then I had a GT but I don't know what's half decent these days.
My budget is up to £500, I've been looking on Evans Cycles, are these any good?
