:D:D

Maybe about a week or 10 days or so - I think the forks are currently out of stock:(

They are ok for the gloop. Nothing amazing but ok. Been running the 2.4 front since mid last year. I'll be experimenting with the 545g (verified) 2.2 tubeless ready at the rear soon.

My new Bike, Orderd it today so should have it by friday all being well =]

Been using the non-disc version since Nov 2010. Really liking it. I should have went for the disc version but preferred the colour scheme of the white/black so went with that one. Will upgrade the wheelset/brakes when I get some cash together.

Any ideas what brakes are on the disc version. All I see is they are 160mm F/R

Tyres are pish on anything remotely slippy as are the pedals once they get a bit wet so you might want to change them if you do anything off-road?

Meant to add - whats the easiest way to find out the ideal brake disc size to get for my bike?

Is bigger always better?
How do I know the biggest that will fit ok?

Downsides of bigger discs is more weight. Thats about it I think. And the weight isn't exactly massive.

For most XC type situations 180/160 is sufficient, check the max disc sizes for the fork and the frame, manufacturers should publish them, probably in the manual.

Nice bike spec booyaka, bet you can't wait for it to arrive.
What type of riding will you be using for?

Cheers - a bit excited but also a bit worried how i will sneak it pass the missus!!!

Local trails (not much around mind u), but more time @ various 7 stanes sites which are about 60 mins away. Riding might be curtailed a bit this year due to baby number 2 due end of May but if i didn't purchase now, I would be a few years away before doing it again!

Also a local club has sprung up and they seem to be building trails/northshore stuff not far from here.

Also - if the missus asks - I'm getting it for a bargin from a "mate":D:D

If youre riding XC or trails theres no reason to run anything more the 180/160 like 8" (203mm) discs.

Some fork manufacturers used to (i dont know if they still do) specify a limit of 180mm or the warranty is voided. (Except DH forks)

Mainly be using it for Cycleing to workin and home, I may do some off-road but it wont be right away and im already considering changing the pedals but ill see how they do first

Most forks are rated up to 203mm nowadays

Typical set ups (can vary depending if you are a fatty or a whippet and where you ride)

160 /140 on a commuter.

160/160 on a XC race bike

180/180 on an AM bike

203/203 on an DH bike

Some trail bikes even come with 203/183 as standard.

I found the standard pedals fine for what you are suggesting but when you go off-road you might find them slippy at times.

I would advise pumping the tyre to about 60psi if you are solely on tarmac as I found it came from Evans with circa 30psi which made it hard going on tarmac.

It seems I can't resist Santacruz bikes no matter how hard I try.
