Great service by evanscycles.com also the bike is amazing! Best bike ive ridden ever comfy ride build quality is spot on and its super super light!

X-Fusion are awesome :)

Bought an X-Fusion Hilo from some guy in St Austell who apparently were the UK distributers until they went bust or something. Spoke to a chap in Germany who are sending out a complete remote kit absolutely free of charge. I was only missing 1 piece!

I was sat watching that with my 3 year old & she asked if it was me lol :D

She also said that he wasn't very good because he was riding on rocks instead of the path.... :(

Roadie then? better get it sorted ;) joking

Akrigg is great. Loved his other vids and earthed. versatile rider thats just goes for it

Would like a new bike with more travel but its not going to happen for year or so (Was looking at the new Enduro, Reign X and the Covert)
Instead I am trying to toughen up the Stumpy a bit.
Want some better brakes and cranks and probably a wider bar and shorter stem

Nope - defo not selling my bike but that is my photo. I'm not too bothered but thanks for the heads up :)

Send ebay an e-mail, it'll only take two minutes, and could potentially save someone else a lot of trouble. Something really iffy if he won't put up his own pictures.

Love the stumpy!

I have a Stumpy 08 elite, swapped the rims to flows too, as I kept knackering the dt swiss ones with my clumsy riding. What mudflap are you using and what's it like? I'm using a crudcatcher on rear over the winter but would love to swap it for something a lot more discrete like that.

My bike is earlier in this thread but has had a few upgrades since then, it's in bike shop at the minute getting a rear end overhaul! Will post another pic when I get it back.

Got back on my XTC SE still got semi slicks on for going off road and its been amazing, apart from brakes, nice ride on the road, want a road bike but the costs are massive compared to what I do, just ride with trainers on and go off road when I want.

Anybody else here in-between MTB/Off roading vs Roading, I love both but cant justify 2 bikes, I love bashing out the miles on the road getting stick into traffic but then I like just going off road and chilling out and discovering places.

What you need is a cyclo cross bike.

Mudflap is a Specialized Mudflap Shock Protector. Doesn't keep the shock completely mud free because I think its designed for earlier model bikes with the shock in a different position. It does do an ok job of stopping a lot of muc though. Think I got it from Evans online, but have seen them in Specialized concept stores.

How are you finding the flows? I changed the Fox F120 forks to 140mm Revelations with 20mm maxle at the same time I changed to the flows and the bike feels much more planted and easier to manage through roots and rocks. Hope pro2's much better than the stock specialized/shimano hubs too.

Going to have to replace the linkage bearings after this winter too. Have had to change the headset bearings twice in 2010. Think I need a better headset!

Have you got the Triad shock on your stumpy? I find most of the time it is ok, but on big drops it lets me down now and again.

MTB & Road riding are 2 disciplines that don't go together. CX bikes are only good for light offroad. So it depends where you would be using it.

It's been an amazing year on my bike, highlights being; Fort William DH runs, first XC races and also coming out unscathed after some big crashes along the way.

- 1,300 miles
- 33,000 meters of climbing
- 101,000 Calories

This year is looking like a good one too :)

I'm looking at buying http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=40238

It's overkill for what I want to do, but I don't currently have a helmet, and I seem to have got into the bad habit of flying into trees, but I was just wondering if it would be worth me buying that until I can afford the XC helmet that I want to get. (The MET Parachute). Or would I be better off waiting? I would also like to get into "more hardcore" stuff than XC, which is what made me have a quick look at Full Face helmets in the first place.

Anyway - Would you say I'd be stupid to buy it, or go for it at the price it's at?
