Having just sent my board back i have had to remove the CPU and Heatsink/Fan from it(duh:p).

The HSF is a artic cooling freezer pro 7 with the bog standard thermal paste which comes pre applied on it, but now i have removed the cpu and hsf and taken them apart, will i have to buy some more thermal paste from somewhere and reapply or is it ok if i just don't bother and use the existing bits left on the hsf/cpu?


Another question is what is better...Arctic ceramique compund or arctic silver 5? Someone told me that AS5 evaporates after a couple of months so i'm not sure which to get.

I was thinking of getting some of the ArctiClean stuff off ocuk. Would that be suitable? I already have a huge box of lint free wipes :)
 
Thanks guys. I have purchased some Akasa TIM cleaner and AS5..will let you know how i get on when it all arrives :)
 
I got them this morning and the Akasa tim cleaner worked really nicely...didn't even have to wait 2 minutes just came right off leaving a shining surface ;)

Now my question is where is the best place to store AS5? Dark cupboard ok :confused:
 
I read something about seperation of the solution over time. The AS5 website says to store it in the fridge when not in use but im not going to do that :p
