OK, before I start on the problem, something weird used to happen with the old one in when I started the computer.
I would turn it on, and the fans would spin, and one HDD out of the three I had in (2 IDEs and one SATA) would get power and spin but the other two wouldn't. It would usually go on like this for about 5 minutes, and I'd just go and make some tea and come back and it would be in windows. Sometimes I could speed it up by wiggling some cables around and shaking the other HDDs and it would then make a load of HDD grinding noise and then start up properly. Also there would be a couple of red lights on on my ATI x1950xtx which would indicate that it wasn't getting power. Eventually that light would go off when everything was working, and it would beep and post then go into windows.
So, I replace the motherboard today and I turn the computer on. I have the same problem as above, but now it won't post no matter what I do. The SATA HDD is getting power, the fans are spinning, there are two red LEDs on the graphics card which would suggest it's not getting power either. My PSU is a Tagan TG480-U01 480w.
The new motherboard has a 24 pin ATX connector (old one was 20) but the PSU had an extra 4 connectors that clip onto the side of the 20-pin to make it 24-pin so that shouldn't be the problem.
If you need any more info please ask, maybe someone has been here before or can tell me what's going wrong? I have tried taking out the power connector for the graphics card and putting it back in, taking out the card, taking out various power connectors for the HDs etc. but nothing is moving this thing to post. There are no beeps or anything that could tell me what's going on either.
Edit - Suspecting a dead card I took the ATI out and tried with my bro's 8800gt and same exact thing as above. Going to try swapping the PSU next I suppose.
