OK, so a bit of an off-the-wall question.
I want to run a large 3D screen from a Linux desktop box running an NVidea Quadro 5000 card with IR emitter and glasses. This currently runs 3D on an Alienware 27" monitor. Does anyone have a thought on what I can go for that is >> 27"?
This is not for gaming - in my day job I run the chemistry team for a CRUK drug discovery unit and I want to equip a meeting room with 3D capabilities for our chemists to generate ideas for the next generation of therapeutics. Looking for a cost effective solution for a 42"+ 3D capability as a central meeting resource... Our IT guys have no experience of doing this so are unsure what best to recommend.
I've pondered whether a standard 3D TV from one of the high street retailers would work in this context but previously we have simply stuck with gaming monitors - as have all the other similar groups we interact with. Has anyone actually tried this, and had any success?? Is it possible to get a large off-the-shelf screen with DV-I or display port, vs HDMI in?
Would appreciate any real experiences and successes...
Thanks.
