I need some help, my options seem limited to non existent so thought i'd ask here.

I have had a Dell U3011 for a few months and love it, however all these monitors seem to have a buzz sound if you drop the brightness much below maximum which is annoying as hell especially on a £1000 monitor ! I have had 3 new replacements all the same. I know some people are going to say there's don't but is this really the case or are they just not in a quiet enough room or do they have a hovercraft pc in the same room ? It emitts from bottom right and the pitch changes with the brightness level, in a quite room it is quite loud, in an office or such you cant hear it, guess where i am :-(

Dell are going to refund me so after hours of searching i was going to go with the HP ZR30w but after a further search this does exactly the same thing, same panel i guess.

So what are my options ? i would prefer 30" and 2560 x 1600 but i suppose if i have to then a 27" will do, Dell U2711 maybe but then will it do the same, can't seem to find much online about it which is hopeful, then theres the Hazro's which just leave me feeling uneasy with the reputation and the fact there website seems to spend more time down than up ! given the issues i've had with the U3011 i'm not sure i want to deal with Hazro ! Dell were excellent in there service. I dont like glass front monitors so thet removes a few too.

Help !

HP has an affordable 27 incher as well (well about as affordable as the u2711 anyway). The HP ZR2740W.

Like the Hazro it's LED backlighted so perhaps that will make a change in the noise you're hearing (read something about people being sensitive to CCFL sound before I think). Should be quite comparable to Dell in build quality/stand etc.
