Big or small?

I thought this would be quite a good discussion with us gamers..

TV/Monitor size, always a big (no pun intended) decision when choosing your display device to go along with your console, so what size did you go for? I presume people will think bigger is better, but is it?

I'm only biring this up because I'm enjoying my 360 on my 26" so much, I started with a 42", went to a 32" now this (I still own the other two) but I seem to game a lot better on it, COD and FIFA anyway. I'm not sure why. I can remember gaming on a 13" SDTV at my girlfriends years ago and I was suprised how much you can concentrate on such a small TV and thus performing better in game! I guess this is the same scenario.

What do you prefer and why?

For me it's always been down to the size of the room/how far I am from the screen.
32" was fine in my old house but when I played in the new lounge I kept finding myself pulling the sofa forward so I whinged enough to the mrs and we got a 42". Personally I think 50" would be better but I know when to call it quits.

I think it works in reverse as well. You can have too big a screen.

Loving the 46"... got the consoles for multi player games pretty much so bigger the screen the better (seeing as the screen is highly likely to be split into 4!!!)

I'm setup in our bedroom, so it's a 26" for me, it is perfect for my needs as I can have it on my desk with my Mac hooked up to it also, I can then play UT3 at the desk on mouse and keyboard, or lie back on the bed and be more relaxed.

When we stop renting this dump of a house and get a place of our own though, I'd probably look at something bigger cause I'll be having a 'Games' room :D

27" inch in my room. I sit pretty close to it as well, its all relative size vs distance etc.

I prefer my 24inch dell over either my 32's or 37 inch screen. Especially for shooters, you sit closer like a traditional PC shooter and can see far more little movements.

55" currently :) lol

I got to say that bigger isnt always better. I used to have a 72" screen when i first got my 360 back in 2005 and tbh as awesome as it looked, i found it really horrible to play games on, probably cos i was sitting too close lol :(

so since then i've dropped the screen size down and i much prefere it now. Guess the moral is, dont have a screen thats too big for your room and viewing distance, it may look good in a willy waving kinda way but you will regret it!

42"

It's my gaming tv by default as it's the only one available to use. I'm sure a smaller monitor would be fine (depending on how far away from it I sit) but I'm also happy on the bigger screen.

You don't want to have to move your eyes too much to see the whole screen as your peripheral vision is crap for noticing fine details. There's definitely a size/distance relationship and you want to go bigger if you regularly split screen.
