big problem help needed

whilst playing css i keep getting system lag the cpu usage shoots up to 100% my ping goes wild and i have no control over my comp until it decides to calm down would this be a graphics isue or cpu issue i play @ 1680x1050 only started doing it scince i put resolution up but i still get over 100 frames per sec so whats happening

look under processes in task manager to see what is using a high % cpu usage. Is it the game itself? ATI driver? or something else

its the latest driver 7.9 and i cant get to the task manager whikst its lagging so i cant see whats doing it

is that card pcie or agp ? sure i read somewere onhere that the agp cards need 7.7 at the mo.

Can you try opening task manager before you run the game and leave it on the processes tab? I can see it being the ATI driver using the high % cpu. Saying that, i've known msn messenger to mess up and start doing tricks like that, using 99% cpu. Just needed re-installing.
