big problem!

Hiya,

i turn on my computer it says "USB Over Current Status Detected, Computer will shut down in 15 seconds"

this is scaring me!

i have nothing in any usb ports at all..

Before answers come i need to ask what are the chances that my lack of power i get is coming from my front usb ports?? i just unplugged my front usb ports from my motherboard and it worked straight away, ive been getting these messages saying usb using to much power or something when i plug something into the front usb ports.

i tried it with and without anything in and it didnt wok, i just went through all the leads reatached them and it still didnt work, then for a last gasp i just unplugged one little lead for the front ones and it worked altough last few weeks when i start it up it has had a lack of power to the cpu fan and as i start up it says press f1 to continue, after 5 minutes though the fans picks up speed, and also when i plug stuff into the front usb it comes up usb using too much power, just unplugging the front usb ports from the motherboard though seems to have done the trick to all them problems, first time i havnt had lack of cpu fan power for ages.

Just google "USB Over Current Status Detected"

yeh its asus board, i know its a problem known to them but i dont know what the main cause is, and as i said its running now its just i have no front usb's, which i can live with
