I just bought the h50 and installed it. After looking all day for something to get the old thermal paste off, I managed to get hold of some akasa TIM-clean. When putting the actual pump / unit onto the processor with the pre-applied thermal paste, I managed to make a bit of a hash of it the first time ( need to put it in and kind of twist with the h50, I wasn't to know ). So it clumped up a bit and I was worried as there were a couple of small holes in the thermal paste ( like little pinheads ). I put it on again with the idea that if it twists,.. and after applying the pressure from screwing it in, it would probably spread out. It's working now at 35 degrees, in a smaller room and on carpet rather than the wood it's on at home ( took it to girlfriends house ).
I'm super happy with it, I will test it under load in a bit, but found that my memory is faulty now
. Third time i'll be RMAing my Ram, but just glad my comp is a bit less warm
.
It's also quieter.
