Big problems please help

Memtest86+ I'm running
il have to buy new if it's all 8gigs worth
I drove to the shop to buy and I have lost receipts arghhhh

your best bet is 2 try 1 stick at a time using memtest to make sure its the right stick(s).

it keeps running till you stop it,best is 24hrs really this might help http://shsc.info/Memtest86

No need for 24 hour if its come up with problems already mate. Like I said, try each stick for 30 - 60 mins then see how many sticks are faulty then go from there. Good luck

Am I right in thinking that if I have 4 sticks of 2 gig ram and. My errors are shown at 6124mb my 3rd stick is the problem stock?

for all of you that helped me out this morning and last night

after i completed the memtest with 40000+ errors in the test i decided to take out what i thought was the dud stick, and hey presto clean installation and alls running well.
i never thought things could go so **** up with a dodgy stick of memory ! :eek:

so im now running 6gig as appose to 8
once again many thanks guys

Memory's the worst thing to troubleshoot 'cause when it's bad it basically makes lots of other seemingly unrelated things go wonky
