Basicly, when I try to play games like Far Cry 3 or BF4 they run fine on ultra (always over 60 fps). How ever they boh do this weird bug where my fps just drops to sub 30's for atleast 30sec a time no matter what im doing. (even looking at the sky!) I've tried 14.1 beta driver, 13.12 and im using 13.9 currently. ALL do the same thing. Managed to grab a screen shot of msi afterburner while it was happening today. It only does it with these 2 games? I think its cause there directx 11 but im not sure.

The image (on my webserver) http://noxgaming.no-ip.org/pics/pic.png

PLEASE help its making the games unplayable

Have you had the processes tab on task manager open to see if a background program is suddenly hogging CPU? Does seem strange if it's only those games but not impossible.

I'm thinking its directx11 thats broke cause there my only 2 games that use it and they both have the same problem. The link has a screenshot of my msi afterburner gpu temps, load ect and the task manager was open next to it with my cpu usage at 69% on all cores

Hows your CPU temp? It might be throttling. Your GPU looks a little toasty, when looking at MSI afterburner does the GPU clocks change at all when playing the game? It should be running at its max speed all the time.

Temps never go over 50 degrees C* It runs at its max clock but the gpu load drops randomly like in the screen shot.

My card has good airflow, i even turned the fans up too 100 on it to see if it was the temps, never broke 62 C* but still slowed down

Heres the screen shot again. And my CPU never breaks 50 C*

Firstly, your signature breaks the rules (Needs to be 4 lines max IIRC, you break into a 5th)

But in regards to your problem, when I tried 14.1 with my R9 290 it crippled DirectX across the board, I required a Windows reinstall to fix it, rolling back drivers didn't help.

Signature is fixed :)

Is there a way I can repair Directx? I really can't reinstall windows :S

All I can suggest is download driver fusion and download the last WHQL driver.
Go off the internet, uninstall AMD's driver, restart, run driverfusion and clear out the AMD stuff, restart, and then install the 13.12 WHQL.

That didn't however fix my problem, and I required a reinstall of Windows.

You could try a download of the DirectX run time and install.

Ill give that a try now, thanks :)

Ok while my desktop downloads the drivers, wouldn't a repair installation in the win7 installer fix DirectX11 since it is part of the os?

Couldn't tell you, all I know is that DirectX performance has been crippled, whether that's because of the graphics card or DirectX files have been affected I don't know.

Ok thanks for the help :), will try a repair after the drivers finish reinstalling and ill let you know how it goes.

Maybe its the mantle APi in 14.1 that breaks DirectX11

Ok guys, I uninstalled ccc 13.9, used DDU in safe mode, installed 13.12 and all is good so far! Far cry has no fps drops like before. Will try battlefield 4 and post the results
