hey

jus want to let people no realy :)

bought me an freezer64 pro yesterday

installed it last nite before i went out temp was reading 30C which i was quite pleased at, on stock cooler it was 45C
i OC'ed 10% in bios

im running a 3800 x2 @2.3ghz

dont no load temps as ive jus got in, will play sum bf2 in a bit, which i also got yesterday! (cs all the way tbh) but trying something new :D

im currently upgrading my cooling system to make it silent, or as good as

only thing i need now is a chipset cooler but i have no clue about them

i have an asus a8n sli deluxe, the fan makes wierd noises sometimes and is generaly loud

so can any1 recomend a quiet chipset cooler? pref without a light on

thx :D

joker

xx

well i was going to start overclocking, but i would have to keep the fan uo high and wouldnt like the noise realy, may do a small clock, but not pushing it

i dont realy no how to do it properly so this be my first try

ive bin told that if i got that i would need some good case flow to keep it cool

will it be fine? i have 2 Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm in an antec P160W, but am looking for a p180 in next few weeks, should have had one other week but didnt get my money :/

**Edit ** does this nb cooler come with heatpaste pre applied or would i need to buy some Arctic Cooling MX-1?

How are you controlling the fan on your 64pro? If it's a fan controller then you could always overclock (temps will stay reasonably low at idle) then whenever you play noisy games you can just up the fan speed. I left mine on the motherboard and it controlled it's own speed so noise wasn't too much of a problem - alternatively you could always replace the fan with one of those Akasa Ambers - should help the temps!

With a passive NB heatsink, you do need some airflow to keep it at a reasonable temperature.

I have a Sapphire Pure Innovation mobo in an Antec P160, with only the one 120 exhaust fan. This mobo has a passive NB heatsink and the temps are fine - fully loaded (I do F@H, so this is always) it's currently at 47C. Different NBs do run at different temps though, but I would have thought that your present setup would be fine :)!

i control my 2 case fans and cpu thru a fan controller

i think i will go ahead and get it then get my case in 2 weeks time

one quick question

which is better thermal paste arctic silver 5 or the mx 1 stuff?

i have noticed the arctic silver costs more

Found this on their site

Considering AS5 isn't on there I'm guessing that AS5 is better (but mx1 is non-conductive - so I guess it depends how clumsy you think you are :p )
