We used to live in Southampton and used this butchers called Uptons of Bassett.

For any locals around there trust me its a great butchers, really friendly, will bend over backwards to help you out.

But we moved last year and I've been searching for a new butcher....eventually I found Ian lenterns place in penzance. Went there today and had to queue down the road, usually a good sign of quality hey?

So big up your local butchers I say.....

Michael Hart & Sons up in cricklade is the one I use when I'm down the Swindon end of the country, their meat is superb and their pies and other stuff are fantastic. Never been in without coming out with a steak and stilton pie and a wedge of cheesecake.
When I'm down the Plymouth end it's Lloyd Maunders.

Meat shopping is the only form of shopping I actually enjoy. Except for booze shopping anyway.

Frank Richards & Sons, Lewes

The sausage rolls they sell are addictive!

Good quality local meat, best of all it's just down the road from me.

Shauns, Hampton. Very good kebabs.

My local one in town is a Ginger Pig. Lucky me. Picking up a 3kg cote de boeuf for next Sunday this week :)

I live about 30 seconds walk from Michael Harts shop and you are right, the Steak and Stilton pies are excellent.

Haffner's of Burnley; their pies are to die for, and they ALWAYS have excellent cuts of meat in. We don't get stuff from there all the time, but if its an occasion, or a meal with friends/familiy, then the go-to is Haffner's. Always a smile on their face, and don't hesitiate you to give you advice on the meat, or what to use etc.
