Water-Cooling will ( in most cases ) yield better temperatures , If set-up correctly.

Check your CPU Block is mounted correctly and is making good contact.

Cheers,

Mark

got any pics of the set up ? tubing lenght is Very important with big water kits, and which big water is it ? the 1/4''ID or 3/8'' ID tubing one ?

If it can't beat air, you've done it wrong. Period.

Instead of blaming the Bigwater, check your block mounting, check the tubing has no kinks, check the pump is actually pushing water. Even the Bigwater will beat air if done properly.

Used both a modded Big typhoon and a bigwater SE. Both lapped used both AS5 and AS ceramique. Bigwater SE wins everytime, especially on naked cpu's. It is far from being a 'decent' watercooling kit and I would advise anyone to save up a little more and either get a custom kit or the apex ultra but tbh for £50 you cant really complain. Its a middle ground between highend air and 'proper' watercooling.

same steps for any temperature problem:

1.Remove
2.check the thermal gunk on there to see that application is good... if all is in contact etc (if it's not try to fix it!)...
3. reapply thermal gunk
4. Put block/heatsink back on

if that doesn't lower temps, look at the tubing (shorter=better), the Rad (1 fan or 2? both at full RPM?) then look at the pump/flow rates you want a good flow of perahps 2-3 litres a minute to keep everyting smooth.

oh, and the Bigwater kits do suck... not bad for the price, but you'd be better off on high-end Air until you can pay the £150+ for a nice loop IMO
